This activity will outline the development, implementation, and ongoing initiatives in a cutting edge pharmacists' practice in an outpatient Infectious Diseases Clinic. Join us to discuss how to utilize a Collaborative Practice Agreement focusing around outpatient antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) as well as national guidelines for OPAT practice and related scientific literature.
 
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this application-based CPE activity, participants should be able to:
 
1. Define outpatient antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) scope of practice and goals.
2. Recommend monitoring plans for OPAT patients.
3. Develop a business strategy for a pharmacist position in an outpatient Infectious Diseases clinic.
4. Discuss methods to create a Collaborative Practice Agreement between pharmacists and other providers.
5. Identify common barriers and practice advance opportunities for pharmacists in an advanced practice setting.
