Essential oils are everywhere these days, but the information online is confusing and of widely varying quality. This leaves pharmacists and other healthcare providers unable to answer questions from patients about everything from safety and efficacy to kinetics, drug and disease interactions, and dosing. This course will cut through the misinformation online and discuss key points about essential oils that healthcare professionals need to know to educate patients in their practices.

Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this application-based CPE activity, participants should be able to:

1. Define essential oils, their function in plants, and how they are extracted.
2. Describe three ways that essentials oils can be used: topically, aromatically and internally.
3. Discuss data related to the use of essential oils in common ailments such as IBS, depression,
and insomnia.
4. Effectively educate a patient on safe use of essential oils alongside OTC and prescription
